A recent client contacted us due to a family member being diagnosed with multiple scleroses. 

The family member owned a place of her own but could no longer navigate the stairs along with many other amenities we would consider "typical".  

You see, the "typical" houses we've become accustomed to dont take into consideration the possibility of a unanticipated event that could leave someone in need of a home that better suites their needs. In this case the clients reached out to me in need of suggestions for how to make their home compatible for the circumstances.

They hired me to consult with them and as a result we concluded with an option to add on a fully self contained studio apartment to their home incorporating a number of universal design features.
